A source confirmed today that Brian Lumar, the principal at Hahnville High School since 2018, is the subject of a current investigation with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“We have no comment at this time,” a St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office representative said.

Before becoming principal at HHS, Lumar served as vice principal at the school for five years.

Stevie Crovetto, director of public information for the school system, initially said that due to confidentiality she could not comment on the situation but later in the day released the following statement.

“An HHS employee is currently under investigation by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office,” Crovetto said. “The district is cooperating with the sheriff’s office investigation and is following all policies and procedures in connection with this matter. No further information regarding the situation will be provided as this is a personnel issue, but please know that we are following the appropriate policy, procedures and law for next steps.”
