You may see goblins, vampires and ghosts walking around with bags of candy even before their most important day of all – Halloween. But don’t worry. These creatures are out early for trunk or treat events, because one day of trick or treating is not enough!
The Mimosa Swim and Racquet Club is hosting a trunk or treat event on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at 502 River Oaks Drive in Luling. Guests can trunk or treat at 16 Halloween-decorated vehicles, and about 20 to 30 volunteers will give out candy, games and prizes to guests. The club will sell hot food and concessions and offer a Halloween photo booth for guests, according to Khalil Turner, president of the club.
The club will also give away limited quantities of free pool guests passes, pool concession gift certificates, and discounted certificates for the club’s summer pool party rental packages.
Ellen Gassen, the swim team representative and a board member for the club, said she anticipates a well-attended event.
“We are looking forward to seeing all of our fellow neighbors, pool members and St. Charles Parish community,” she said.
Gassen said the event is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about the swim and athletic programs available at the club.
“We hope this event brings families together for a fun night of community spirit, while also strengthening the bonds within our local area,” Gassen said.
