Destrehan will welcome three new coaches into the fold, with two of them returning to their alma mater.
Bailey King has been hired to guide the Wildcats’ girls soccer team, while Layla Hinchman has been brought on to take the helm of the boys and girls swimming teams. Nick Morrow, meanwhile, will join King as a soccer assistant. Hinchman and Morrow are Destrehan alums.
King is a native of Hahnville and an alum of Hahnville. She isn’t a stranger to the parish coaching ranks as she coached girls soccer and softball at R.K. Smith Middle School for three years.
Hinchman is a former team captain of the Destrehan swimming team and will now serve as head coach of the squad she competed for. She has 15 seasons of club head coaching experience – nine with Sun Villa in the River Parishes Swim League and six with the SLST Seahorses year-round program.
Morrow is a former collegiate soccer player with the University of Montevallo and an experienced player in the semi-pro soccer ranks. Like Hinchman, he’s back to help guide a program he proudly competed for during his prep days.
