Duplantis’ Covenant Church holds fall fest

The Covenant Church, an outreach of Jesse Duplantis Ministries located in Destrehan, hosted a Fall Festival Oct. 31.

Residents parishwide attended the free event that included rides, games, live musical performances, a costume contest, and free food and drinks.

“We host the festival to give back to our members, but everyone is welcome,” Rev. Jesse Duplantis, founder of the ministry said.  “We know some churches host events like these for fundraising purposes, that’s fine for them, what we host this event for is to show our members how much we appreciate them and to give something back.”

Tanis Salantro, event organizer and executive secretary for the pastor, says the church has been holding the event for the past seven years.

“This year we had 1,400 people attend,” Salantro said. “We love to do things for the church and it’s an alternative to trick or treating and it’s a safe Christian environment.”
