“Showcasing St. Charles Parish” is the theme of this year’s St. Charles Business Association’s BusinessFest and Health Fair.

With almost 40 local businesses featuring their products and services and the St. Charles Parish Hospital providing health screenings, this year’s fest should be one of our best ever, says Toni Maggio, co-chair of the event.

The business fest is on Friday, March 9 from noon to 5 p.m., and runs Saturday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hahnville High School.

Admission is free. Door prizes galore will be given out during both days of the show.

At the show one will find a variety of consumer products many available at “Show Specials” discounts available only at the show.

You’ll find information on buying and selling a home, home improvements, home decor, furniture, lawn and garden products, ladies fashion, banking, financing, investing, health and fitness.

Many New Orleans Saints items from the 2006-2007 season will be raffled and the Saintsations dance team will be on hand Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Local performer Blanche Newsome will provide entertainment throughout the day Saturday. Food and drinks will be available.

The St. Charles Fireman’s Association will provide safety tips and demonstrations on Saturday, as well as the St. Charles Sheriff’s Department.
