Every state in the U.S. is corrupt, it’s just that in LA, we don’t worry about it

LSU’s student newspaper has published a well-done article about Louisiana’s well-deserved reputation for corruption. Despite what many think, I do not believe LA is the most corrupt state in the U.S. For many years, I’ve talked to those who have dealt with experts on politics and government in the other 49 states.
Those would include politicians, media, political consultants and law enforcement. The consensus is that LA is not more corrupt than any other state.

What distinguishes us from the other states, when it comes to corruption, is our tolerance of corruption.

If these experts are correct – and I believe they are – then the problem lies not with government, but with us as citizens.

We have the power to change things.

The question is whether we have the will.
