Are we all spiritually derailed?

God has created each of us with a very special purpose and mission in life; and if we strive to live it, we will find fulfillment and contentment no matter how bad things seem around us.*

“In His will is our peace!”

“What father among you would give His son a snake if he asks for a fish?… How much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy spirit to those who ask Him?” (Lk 11:12,13)

We must remember that “God is love” and He created us out of His love for us. We were created by love and for love. We all have a God-sized void within us, always longing for His personal, unconditional love and acceptance.

Satan, who is the “prince of this world,” knows this. He knows that if we turn to God with our whole hearts, asking Him to fulfill us, we will come to know the truth of our dignity and identity and we will no longer (or less and less at least) be lured in by his deceptions.

And, of course, the whole ultimate purpose of this false “angel of light,” is to draw us away from the truth of: our preciousness to God, the “marvel we were made” (Ps 139), and our inheritance of all the riches of His Kingdom.

Yes, it is true, there is an abundance of all that is good awaiting us if we but renew our Baptismal vows and dispose ourselves to Him.

The key is to dispose ourselves, truly opening ourselves to the reality that our Triune God dwells within us through Baptism (when we’re in a “state of grace” **). And, that we have been redeemed by the Blood of Christ.

So many are Baptized, but so few allow these graces to be activated; and so, we remain living in the kingdom of satan, in darkness, discouragement and lack of hope.

If we find ourselves in that category, we can start anew today.

Satan will constantly seek to whisper lies to us, to prevent us from turning fully to God. If we have a hard time opening our hearts fully to God, and surrendering to Him as His children, we must ask ourselves what is preventing us from doing so, and therein we will find the lie.

And, it is a lie because the truth is always that we were created for God. But, some will choose to believe the lies of the evil one instead, whether out of pride or some other vice; and, hell is their reward.

Jesus is waiting for us to invite Him and His redeeming graces into the center of our hearts and lives. In so doing we not only satisfy our own ache, but we quench the deep “thirst” of Jesus’ Heart for communion with us.

“Come to me all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh your soul; for my yoke is easy and my burden light” (Mt 11:28).

+Holy Mother Mary, inspire us to have your disposition of total openness to communion with the indwelling presence of our Triune God!+
