A New Orleans man accused of kidnapping and raping a Norco woman before allegedly throwing her out of his vehicle on I-10 has been arrested.
Dave Anthony Turner is accused of forcing his way into the Norco residence of a former acquaintance around 9:30 a.m. Monday, raping the woman and strangling her until she blacked out, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Turner then forced the woman into a vehicle and drove on I-10 towards New Orleans.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said, after a physical altercation in the vehicle, Turner allegedly pushed the victim out of the vehicle as they were traveling on the highway.
EMS picked her up and transported her to a local hospital where she suffered an open fractured ankle, which required surgery, Yoes said.
She also had several abrasions and lacerations throughout her body.
The Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for Turner on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Turner was arrested at his New Orleans residence without incident. He is being held at Orleans Parish Prison on charges for New Orleans then will be transferred to Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
