Led by Fabian Celestine’s 200 total yard and three-touchdown performance, Hahnville excelled in all three phases on the road Friday night as it nailed down a 48-7 win at H.L. Bourgeois.
Celestine rushed 15 times and averaged 11 yards a carry on his way to 165 on the ground – and even more per touch, as he added a 35-yard reception. Landen Teague was sharp, completing 10-of-15 passes to six different receivers for 195 yards and a touchdown, that scoring pass to Aaron Williams. Teague was not intercepted – and still has not been this season – and added a rushing touchdown.
Kevias Singleton led the way for the receivers with three receptions for 73 yards. Kaden Bran, Lance Marshall and Bennett Naquin also caught passes on the night. Jackson Porter rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Hahnville earned its first district win of the season, moving to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in District 8-5A play. Bourgeois dropped to 3-2 and 0-1, respectively.
The Tigers looked to get off to a fast start and they did just that – the Braves made an impression on Hahnville in the last meeting between the teams, a 49-39 playoff victory for HHS in which Bourgeois hung tough all night.
The Braves also brought a hot offense into Friday’s matchup, scoring 40, 29, 34 and 47 points through its first four weeks, respectively. A Tigers defense that allowed 52 last week to a powerful Terrebonne offense entered this one highly motivated to post a strong performance and turn the page – and that defense was dominant on Friday.
“We tackled much better, lined up better and our technique was better,” said Hahnville head coach Greg Boyne. “That team has some good players and I think that’s a pretty good offense … we started getting after the quarterback and they kind of threw their whole rhythm off. I think that pressure was a big part of what was a pretty successful night.”
Celestine has put together a very strong first half of the season – he’s on pace to top 1,000 rushing yards and to score 22 times in the regular season, with 11 touchdowns scored so far in 2025.
Given his late-season injury last year, seeing Celestine create explosive plays each week has been a sight the Tigers and their fans are certainly pleased with.
“Fabian had a fantastic night. He’s clearly all the way back from his injury,” said Boyne.
Hahnville also got a strong night from Porter, who Hahnville has begun utilizing as its second running back.
“He’s been playing all over the place. This week we decided to move him to basically be our second back, and he had a really good night for us,” Boyne said.
