Hemes “Baboy” A. Dufrene, 90, a native and resident of (Bayou Gauche) Des Allemands, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years: Alice B. Dufrene, Daughter: Linda Chiasson(Richard), sons: Andrew Dufrene(April), Wade Dufrene(Barbara), Grandchildren: Rachelle Blanda(Ryan), Brandy Bruno(Anthony), Brandt Dufrene(Brandy), Ashley Dufrene, Kailen Dufrene(Courtney), great-grandchildren: Madison, Michelle, Alayna, Jessi, Lauryn, Kylie, Ethan, Paisley, Grayson, Grant, Great-great grandchildren: Kyndelyn and Baylah, brother: Wilbur Dufrene(Rose), and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Dufrene; mother and stepfather, Leonise and Sam Matherne; grandson: Christian Andrew Dufrene, brother: Roy Dufrene Sr., sisters: Edna Matherne and Levia Meyer
Hemes was a retired pipefitter from the local 60 Pipefitters Union and was a commercial fisherman from thereafter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being out in the yard cutting his grass, and being surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home, in Raceland, on Friday, December 27th from 6 pm until 9 pm and will continue on Saturday, December 28th at Life Fellowship Community Church, in Bayou Gauche, from 9 am until service time. A funeral service will be held at 11 am with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
