Elizabeth Ann Barrios, born January 19, 1948, left this world peacefully on January 6, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A devoted reader and natural storyteller, she found in books a way to travel, learn, and expand her world. She had a lifelong love of football, gardening, and was known for her free spirit and living life on her own terms.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C.J. Barrios; her children Ross Barrios, Perry Barrios, and Sarah Barrios; and her cherished grandson, Quinten Barrios.
She is survived by her loving children, Emily Frischhertz with her husband Marc Frischhertz and Emily Catanzaro with her husband John Catanzaro; her grandchildren, Joshua Mohon, Brooke Mohon, Rayna Mohon, Megan Barrios, Joel Barrios, Nicholas Frischhertz, Mia Frischhertz, Sebastine Rosales, and John Catanzaro; and her great-grandchildren Lena Frischhertz, Ella Mohon, Emma Mohon, and Eliza Mohon.
Funeral services will be held on January 16, 2026, at the Mennonite Church, 17447 Old Spanish Trail, in Des Allemands, Louisiana. Visitation for family will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by visitation for guests until 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., with a reception to follow at the church.
Elizabeth Ann Barrios will be remembered for her resilience, her love for her family, and the legacy she leaves through generations who carry her memory forward.
