A former Hahnville High School faculty member was arrested Monday on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Devin Candies, 30, was arrested following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior involving two students and a former HHS employee, Candies, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to police, the Sheriff’s Office received a report from an administrator within the St. Charles Parish Public School System regarding an anonymous email received by the school system. The email alleged the sender had images of a social media chat involving Candies and two juvenile students.
Candies left Hahnville High School in July of 2025.
The investigation was conducted with assistance from the State Attorney General office’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force and sufficient evidence was established for investigators to obtain an arrest warrant, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
St. Charles Parish Public Schools released a statement Tuesday afternoon concerning the arrest:
“St. Charles Parish Public Schools has been informed that Devin Candies, a former Hahnville High School employee, was arrested following an investigation by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office for inappropriate electronic communication with a juvenile. “Because this is an active law enforcement matter, the school system cannot provide additional details. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment for our students, employees, and community.”
