St. Charles UMC to hold Spring Craft Fair

LULING – The St. Charles United Methodist Church will hold its 4th annual Spring Craft Fair at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12. The fair will feature a variety of concessions, a fun run-walk-bike marathon and an Easter egg hunt. The Luling library and Luling Volunteer Fire Station will also participate in the activities. Proceeds go the church’s Food Pantry, which is in partnership with Second Harvest. Last year, the church gave food that fed 8,347 people in the St. Charles Parish community. Presidential Preference and Party Election

St. Charles Parish – The upcoming March 5th Presidential Preference Primary is a closed party primary by the choice of the Democrat and Republican parties in Louisiana. That means that only Democrats will vote for candidates on the Democratic Party Ballot and only Republicans will vote for Republican candidates on the Republican Party Ballot. If you are registered as: No Party, None, Other party, Green, Reform or Libertarian party member you will not be eligible to vote in the Presidential Preference Party Primary on March 5. Women's Club Scholarship deadline

LULING – The St. Charles Women’s Club is offering scholarships to residents graduating high school. The scholarships will be awarded to students continuing their education in either a four-year program, two-year program, technical or vocational schools. Scholarship applications are available at Destrehan, Hahnville and St. Charles Catholic High Schools. St. John Theatre holding auditions

Reserve – St. John Theatre will present “Broadway on da Bayou,” a Broadway style variety show.  Auditions will take place between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the theater in Reserve.  Callbacks will be held on 6:30 p.m. Jan 31. Directors Alina Casero and Kate Kuen will hear all auditioners who appear. Auditioners should prepare a song, scene, skit, monologue, dance, rap, or reading with a Broadway theme although all acts will be considered.  Selections should be no longer than four minutes. Show dates are March 3, 4 and 5. LULING – The Krewe of Lul is scheduled to roll at noon Feb. 6. Meeting dates and entry fees have also been announced. Meeting dates are: Jan. 6 , 13, Jan. 20 (final date for registration and payment), Feb. 3 (mandatory attendance, line-up will be distributed), and Feb. 6 (Parade line-up at 9 a.m.).
