Woman reports Spillway rape
A 33-year-old Jefferson Parish woman stated that a white male entered her vehicle in Metairie, punching her in the back of the head and forcing her to drive to the Bonnet Carre Spillway. The man then allegedly raped the woman twice before driving away in her vehicle. This incident is still under investigation. Video festival at Satellite Center

LULING - The 2009 Satellite Center Video and Animation Festival is set for Saturday, May 2 with a public screening from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 285 Sugarland Parkway.

The awards ceremony is from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will be hosted by ABC 26 news anchor Michael Hill.

Holy Family hosts annual fundraiser

LULING - Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling will hold its annual fundraiser on May 2 at 5 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Tickets for the $10,000 grand prize will be sold at weekend Masses and from the parish office daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $50 a piece or $100 for three.

An auction, raffles, refreshments, dancing and cash drawings will be featured. The first ticket drawn will be for $10,000. The second is for $400 and other winners will receive $300, $200 and $100.
