Local restaurants will support Girl Scouts on Nov. 18

At a time when many non-profits are seeing a steady decline in donations, Girl Scouts Louisiana East is partnering with local restaurants throughout its 23-parish area to provide “Scouting for Supper” on Nov. 18. Participating restaurants will donate 10 to 20 percent of their dinner proceeds at this one-night event to the local council in support of Girl Scout programming.

HAHNVILLE - In rememberance of all veterans, the American Legion No. 131 asks the community to donate blood on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Parish Courthouse in Hahnville. The Ochsner Bloodmobile will be on site and all donors will receive a Saints/Blood Bank shirt, mini physical, cholesterol test, blood typing and blood assurance package. Donors must bring a photo ID and are encouraged to eat a healthy meal prior to donating. Those taking medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol can still donate.
