The Destrehan Lady Cats throttled H.L. Bourgeois and knocked off East St. John to start district play with a 2-0 record. The Lady Cats are now 8-1 on the season with their only blemish coming by way of a one-point loss to Cabrini.

Destrehan’s football season came to an end Saturday night with a 23-7 loss to Acadiana in the Class 5A state championship game. While the season didn’t end the way the Wildcats wanted it to, Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux was extremely proud of his squad.

Paint topped the list in the 75,349 pounds of items collected in this year’s Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day in St. Charles Parish, as well as marked the highest collection since 2008.
