Donated over 300 gallons to flood victims
Dow St. Charles recently raised nearly $5,000 in support of its United Way campaign as it held its first annual United Way Gumbo Cook-Off.More than 800 gallons of gumbo were served to employees and contractors at Dow, while 300 gallons were donated to tornado victims in Southeast Louisiana during the storms in February.
More than 30 teams participated, with the Krazy Kajuns team emerging victorious.
The first place team, which included Elvin Dufrene, Scotty Long, James Jones, Christa Matherne and Eryn Short, will represent DOW at the United Way of St. Charles Battle for the Paddle this fall.
The team “Swamp Water” (Adam St. Germain, Doug Crotty, Keith Jackson and Shane Zenon) finished second place.
“Burnt Roux Kroux” (Jeremy Adams, Tylane Hebert, Lance Amadee, Kurt Greichgauer and Shane Souldier) took third place.
