St. Augustine will be coming to town on Sept. 29 looking to provide a competitive football game for the Hahnville Tigers. They are coming with one goal in mind, to win. This year is a rebuilding year for the Purple Knights. Hurricane Katrina took their equipment, their coach and displaced most of the team. Their weight room sat under 5 feet of water. They are playing football this year and are having a rough go of it. It will not get any easier tomorrow night. […]
From the outset of the game it was apparent that O. Perry Walker possessed the ability to make the big plays and the quick scores. The Chargers stunned the home crowd, taking just 1:22 to march 57-yards in three plays to become the first regular season team to score against the Tigers this year. Chargers quarterback Larry Young found receiver Tyler Stradford on the first play of the game for a 47-yard pass play. Two plays later Young again went up top, this time to Ronnie Carter for an 11-yard touchdown pass. After Hahnville blocked the extra point the Chargers were up 6-0. […]

Hahnville came out on a mission last Friday evening handing their former 6-5A district rivals a 38-point shellacking. The Tigers (2-0 overall, 0-0 5-5A) got off to a shaky start as they won the toss and elected to receive — only to fumble the kickoff. The defense took the field and forced Central Lafourche to a three and out, and for the second week in a row, the defensive front four found themselves in the opposing teams backfield frequently. […]

Hahnville will host the McDonogh 35 Roneagles tomorrow night in the first match up of the 2006 season. Last week Hahnville faced off against the Wildcats of St. James in the Ed Reed Jamboree held in Boutte. […]
An imposing man, a demanding coach, Coach Lumar has the boys program at Hahnville playing at a level desired by many area school coaches. He hawks over the practice session eagerly pointing out mistakes and correcting players and quickly offering praise when it flows right. It helps that he is returning at least three starters from a team a year ago that won the district. […]
It was opening night in district 5-5A as Hahnville met East St. John in Boutte on Tuesday night. The Tigers, who are returning five starters from last year’s team, appear to be the odds on favorite to capture this year’s 5-5A district title. Hahnville jumped to a quick lead, wasting little time in setting the tone for the Wildcats.
