Jeanette Davies Ray, age 90, a native of Flippen, Georgia and resident of Hahnville since 1956, died on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Luling. She retired from St. Charles Parish Public Schools and was the secretary at Hahnville High School for 24 years.
She is survived by one son, Alan D. Ray (Juanda) and daughter, Peggy Ray Matherne (Jerry), grandchildren, Sam Ray, Sara Ray Beeman (John), Diana Ray (Josh), Jenny M. Lacoste (Lance), Ross D. Matherne, (Destany), and great-grandchildren, Maverick, Evie and Emmett.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Inman Davies and Evie Rosser Davies, husband, Dan S. Ray.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at West St. Charles Baptist Church located at 13099 Highway 90 in Boutte. The Funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 6:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Methodist Children’s Home located at 304 Pierce Avenue or P.O. Box 2525 in Macon, GA 31204.
