Rose Mary Talamo Montet, 79, passed away on Aug. 22, 2018.
She was the beloved wife of Carl Luke Montet Sr. for over 58 years. She was the devoted mother of Carl Luke Montet Jr. (Nadine) and Jude Michael Montet (Rhonda). Cherished grandmother of Joshua Montet (Rachel), Jonathan Montet, Ross Montet (Chelsey), and Michelle Montet Dufrene (Adam). Adored Gigi of Sydni, Gracyn, Ava, and Rhett. She was the daughter of the late Russel and Laura Talamo. Sister of Carmen Termine, as well as the late Millie LaBorde and Anna Mae Mitchell.
She was also preceded in death by one nephew, Willie Mitchell.
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A native of Marrero, she graduated from West Jefferson High School before moving to St. Charles Parish. She also graduated from Mollere Beauty College and spent 40 years as a Hair Dresser. She and her husband were active members of Holy Family Church in Luling. She was also a member of the Jefferson Good Timers, the Golden Girls, and the Mad Hatters. Her greatest joys, however, came from her family.
She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent many hours running and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and may or may not have been known to jump on the bed with them.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at her church, Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling, on Aug. 27
Interment followed at St. Charles Mausoleum.
