Over 300 backpacks with school supplies given to local students at Back to School giveaway

More than 300 backpacks with school supplies were given to local school students at the Keltric and Sarah Lockett Back-to-School Giveaway.

Giveaways were July 28 at the Killona Fire Hall and on July 29 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boutte. The pack included a T-shirt.

“My husband and I enjoy giving back to our community,” said Sarah Lockett.

Keltric Lockett added, “This year has been the best year so far. I was originally raised in Killona. My wife was originally born and raised in Boutte, and we were able to give back to both our communities, which I think is such a blessing to many families.”

The Locketts thanked the Killona Fire Department, Pastor Charles Johnson of Mt. Zion Baptist church, St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg and Alice Champagne, Wade Scott and Ashton Noel of the Killona Landfill, Raymond Coleman with 3’s Properties, Frickey Brothers Construction, and Cypress Land RV Park, Shell Boutte and Motown car lot for their donations and support.
