Hahnville man allegedly held ex-girlfriend in her home at knifepoint for six hours

A Hahnville man was arrested last week for allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at knifepoint at her home for nearly six hours.

William Griffin, 45, and of 200 Sunset Court in Hahnville, was charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

At about 12:30 a.m. Monday (May 28) of last week Griffin entered the woman’s Hahnville residence without permission armed with a knife and demanding they talk, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly stayed there through the night, finally leaving at 6:30 a.m.

After the incident was reported, St. Charles deputies found Griffin on Summerset Court in Hahnville and placed him under arrest.

Griffin is being held in Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bond. A court arraignment is set for June 21.
