Year of Yes How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person is a self-help book written by Shonda Rhimes, who focuses on her struggle to maintain her sanity and take chances at the same time. The Grey’s Anatomy writer’s personality shines through in this book of saying yes to you.

Year of Yes is divided into several story-oriented sections that focus on topics that challenge personal strength. In her section “Yes to More Year of Yes,” Rhimes gives insprational advice in an outtright format. Her stories are relatable. Her tone is engaging, and her personality coats the pages in power and defeat when she realizes her year of yes is over. Through thought and a rhetorical conversation with the reader, Shonda Rhimes discovers the year of yes should be a lifetime of yes.

Year of Yes How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person is great for mature audiences and has several innuendos and idioms regarding the fear of “Being that Person.” Rhimes’ book is for those who need a laugh, a push to take chances, to believe in themselves, and need to say yes!
