Utility bill assistance still available for low income residents

Parish’s qualifying requirements outlined

The St. Charles Parish Department of Community Services has received additional funds for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).Any client who received LIHEAP services or did not receive LIHEAP services in the last six months is eligible.

Information needed to apply:

Recent copies of a utility bills (light and gas)

Final Utility Termination Notice (a shut-off notice)

Most recent four consecutive check stubs for employed household members

Proof of income from SS, SSI, Retirement, UEB, pension funds, etc.

Current Food Stamp print-out within 30 days

Identification to prove address (drivers license, voter registration card, rent/lease agreement, bill with your name with the same address as the utility bill)

Social Security Card for each household members

All residents qualifying for utility assistance must provide a current bill and disconnect notice. Applications are taken by appointment, but walk-ins are welcome.

Hi,my name is Chasity sue conley.bdate 09/02/980.i live in Westlake,la70669.we been threw covid and hurricane Laura and it’s for from over.well I’m reaching out because of my water bill . when it got disconnected it was 400$ I was going to pay it.we got in a big huge financial problem.i had 5 grandbaby lost one .lost my cousin there investigate we believe foul play.l9st my best friend to suicide.my electricity is way more than should be.everyone I speak to there’s is fair.i have no leak nothing to make my bill that high.i do pay that my insurance ,mortgage,taxes,gas, propane, personal needs.supplies for house.food,tires witch I need it’s sad I can’t even do that . maintain truck .only vehicle n is used for work . work was extremely low an no one wants to hire due to crisis.there are thing in my home that is mandatory to fix.my outside yard .also we have more than we should in debt.Now my point is when my water was disconnected at 400$.we chose bills in an ordely witch top priority to live.ee were gonna catch up but every month they sent a bill with substantial amount when no water no gas no leaks even took meter .they wouldn’t work with us .we filled buckets to bath.i am trying to understand stand how I’m billed every month.ok let’s say trash well come on.my bill is up to 1200before I knew it .I really need help even help with part .we have covid 19 I have grandbaby who love to come .I take a bath once 2wks sometimes over a month.if you or any one out there that can please find it in there heart to help .thank you and God bless.chasity Conley .my address is 712 patin Rd Westlake,la 70669..my #3378028103
