Hahnville defends district championship

Hahnville recently took to the waters in Des Allemands with the intention of defending their District 7-5A championship, and that’s exactly what the Tigers BASS fishing team did. At the end of the day, Hahnville’s top three two-man teams had totaled 29.06 pounds of bass to remain district  champions.

“This is my back yard and we won the district last year. We will catch our fish today,” Andrew Granier, fisherman from Hahnville said before the teams took to the water.

At the end of the day, Hahnville’s top 3 teams had totaled 29.06 pounds of bass to remain District 7-5A Champions. Their rankings were:

1st place Andrew Granier & Dalton – 12.07 pounds

2nd place Luke Cheramie & Hayden Theriot – 10.07 pounds

3rd place Landon Baudoin & Davon Baudoin – 7.02

4th place Logan Robert & Wade Orgeron – 5.65 pounds

Big Bass was won by Dalton Melancon – 3.00 pounds

Hahnville qualified six teams to the 2017 High School Louisiana State Championships in the Atchafalaya Basin/Lake Verret area: Colin Sawyer and Scott Folse, Dalton Melancon and Andrew Granier, David Bernard and Peyton Folse, Landon Baudoin and Davin Baudoin, Luke Cheramie and Hayden Theriot and Logan Robert and Wade Orgeron.
