Beaed moves operations to St. Charles Parish

Company relocates closer to industrial customers

This is no traditional sign company that newly relocated in St. Charles Parish.

General Manager Jodie Doucet said Beaed of Louisiana makes industrial identification products or safety signage for plants, such as those that line the Mississippi River in this area.

“A lot of our client base is here,” Doucet said. “And St. Charles Parish is a good place to do business.”

Located in Esperanza Business Park at 500 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling, the sign manufacturer relocated in an estimated 10,000 square foot building (office and warehouse space) next to the Blue Bell Distribution Center from its Harvey Canal site of over 30 years. The location represents one of four the Alvin, Texas-based company has in the U.S.

Beaed’s employs 16 people.

Doucet said Corey Faucheux, the parish’s economic development director, assisted with applying for Louisiana incentives to relocate in the parish. He added talks on the move started 18 months ago.

“We’re built to grow,” Doucet added. “And we had a good 2016 that could translate into more expansion and more jobs.”According to Faucheux, Beaed moved to a fast growing area of the parish.

“This has been a project we’ve worked on a while,” he said. “It’s not big in a footprint or plant expansions where there could be millions of dollars, but it’s important. It’s another step toward diversifying the local economy.”
