DESTREHAN – The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is holding an “MLK Day of Service” with a children’s book drive during this month to support childhood literacy. RSVP Director Michelle Higgins said they are requesting new or gently used children’s books, which can be dropped off at the RSVP office at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling. For more information, call RSVP at (985) 783-8907. Jan. 31 is the deadline to donate books.
