St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office rescinds warrant on Norco burglary suspect

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has rescinded the arrest warrant for Jonathan McPhail of Westwego in connection with a Feb. 23 burglary in Norco.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said the incident is still under investigation.

McPhail reached out to the Herald-Guide stating that he had an alibi that was verified by the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Greg Champagne reported the Feb. 23 aggravated burglary occurred in the 300 block of Clayton St. in Norco.

An 18-year-old came home from school and discovered a burglar in the home that entered through a window. The suspect, armed with a knife threatened the teen and fled the residence.

Investigators identified the suspect as Jonathan McPhail, 31.

But McPhail said, after questioning, it was determined he an alibi.
