Former HHS star scores TD in NFL debut

How about the opening NFL game in the career of former Hahnville High School and LSU running back Alfred Blue?

The former Tiger running back, who is a member of the Houston Texans, blocked a punt in the game against Washington and returned the ball five yards for a touchdown in Houston’s 17-6 win.

The 2014 seventh round pick made the team due to his special team skills and it paid off handsomely for the Texans.

“All my athletic life I have done what is asked and tried to make the most of it. It made a difference today and I am thrilled I helped in getting us a win,” Blue said. “I just slipped through their blocking and reached out with my left hand for the block and the ball just bounced right back to me and I took it in for the touchdown.”
