|D-day in June reminds us of the need to pray

We're not sure how bothered folks have to become about June 6, 2006 (6/6/06), which is next Tuesday (and which comes once a century), but it certainly affords another opportunity to pray. Some even believe they have heard from angels to this effect: that it is a day in which the Archangel Michael should be specially invoked.

During Lent, as we look inwardly, as we purify, and as we wait for the ultimate sacrifice of Our Lord, it's good to realize that it's through His radiance -- the fire of Jesus -- that our sins are burned away. The Lord purifies with heavenly flames that issue out of His Heart. They come from the furnace of His love. Our evil is evaporated in the presence of Christ and is especially dispelled through confession.
