Hopefully, it is becoming less mainstream to kill human life in our world through abortion. It appears that way in our area at least as an abortion facility planned in May 2013 in the 4600 block of South Claiborne Ave. in New Orleans has yet to get off the ground.

One of them was in a runoff for governor against Edwin Edwards in which bumper stickers advertised ďVote for the crook. Itís important.Ē And they elected Edwards.

The United States needs to push its efforts to get other countries together on disagreements that seem to be tearing the world apart on issues such as creating a Palestinian state before a peace treaty is signed between the two countries. And there are other matters of concern, especially in the Middle East where forces of various views are trying to take control.

Candidates should not show pictures of their opponents in their advertisements for public office. Such views of opposing candidates are especially frequent on television political ads in which the adsí sponsors appear as upright people who will serve the public in the right way while views of their opponents are manufactured to show evil in their eyes and frowns on their faces.

St. Charles and other parishes along the Louisiana coast have a very prosperous layout with rich oil and gas production fields, fishing and hunting grounds and deep water ports offering opportunities for engaging in the transportation business. But, of course, when nature provides such facilities to enrich us, we sometimes have to step back to be sure our prosperity does not interfere with the everyday comforts of living.
