They are coming with one goal in mind, to win. This year is a rebuilding year for the Purple Knights. Hurricane Katrina took their equipment, their coach and displaced most of the team. Their weight room sat under 5 feet of water. They are playing football this year and are having a rough go of it. It will not get any easier tomorrow night. |

Hahnville hangs on September 20, 2006 at 1:19 pm From the outset of the game it was apparent that O. Perry Walker possessed the ability to make the big plays and the quick scores. The Chargers stunned the home crowd, taking just 1:22 to march 57-yards in three plays to become the first regular season team to score against the Tigers this year. Chargers quarterback Larry Young found receiver Tyler Stradford on the first play of the game for a 47-yard pass play. Two plays later Young again went up top, this time to Ronnie Carter for an 11-yard touchdown pass. After Hahnville blocked the extra point the Chargers were up 6-0. |

Valdin candid about his team’s lack of running game September 13, 2006 at 2:50 pm Hahnville came out on a mission last Friday evening handing their former 6-5A district rivals a 38-point shellacking. The Tigers (2-0 overall, 0-0 5-5A) got off to a shaky start as they won the toss and elected to receive -- only to fumble the kickoff. The defense took the field and forced Central Lafourche to a three and out, and for the second week in a row, the defensive front four found themselves in the opposing teams backfield frequently. |
