For most car-racing junkies, a seven-day trek to some of the premier racetracks the United States sounds like the perfect vacation. And for Devin Clancy of Destrehan, traveling thousands of miles in the 2008 One Lap of America car competition gives him the opportunity to do just that. After all, he just wrapped up this year’s competition.

The Louisiana Mustangs won the championship at the Spring Classic, Major NIT USSSA Baseball Tournament in Belle Chasse April 19 and 20.

Sophomore Courtney Western struck out 10 and allowed one run on two hits in her team’s win over Parkview.

SULPHUR- The St. Charles Lady Comets won their first state championship since 1998 against the Parkview Lady Eagles by a score of 2-1.

UPGRADING. Hahnville’s football field turned into dirt after the grass was uprooted and transferred to another location on campus. The installation of the artificial turf fields at both Hahnville and Destrehan should be complete by late July. High school stadiums get $1.4 million makeover

Both the Destrehan and Hahnville stadiums will be undergoing a reconditioning project that will make slight improvements to various parts of the stadiums. Neither one of the stadiums have been reconditioned in their 30 year existence.
