Attention all hunters - this what you have been waiting for since hunting season closed last year. Every game season is open, ducks, rabbit, squirrel, deer, and doves.

Destrehan junior running back Henry Lenox gets to the corner and speeds downfield, escaping several Ruston defenders. The Wildcats were successful on offense, rushing for 162 yards and throwing for 169 more in their 17-10 win over Ruston. DHS will have to stop powerful Higgins running game - again

Destrehan is one of only eight teams remaining in 5A after surviving Ruston 17-10 in what was the team's closest game of the season. Now, the Wildcats will face off against Higgins, who they beat 20-0 just two months ago.

It is amazing to watch college and professional football games and see all the talent coming out of the state of Louisiana.

Destrehan quarterback Wynrick Smothers ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead his team to a 29-7 win over Jesuit. Wildcats need to match physical play of 8-3 Ruston

Though they may not have been hitting on all cylinders like they did in their final two games of the regular season, Destrehan still did enough to get by Jesuit for a resounding 29-7 playoff victory.

Destrehan High School’s girls volleyball team reached a season high when they defeated their toughest competitor, St. Amant, on Oct. 20 gaining first place in their district. As the District 4-I champion, the girls finish the season at 12-9.

A couple of weeks ago my neighbor, Gary Brasher, made a trip of a lifetime. He had a chance to hunt and fish for game that we here in St. Charles Parish only dream of. Brasher has an uncle living in Belgrade, Montana and he invited Gary on a 10-day outdoor adventure.

Hahnville couldn't stop Dutchtown backs Eddie Lacy and Kelvin York last week, which caused the Tigers to fall 35-7 in the first round of the 2008 playoffs and abruptly ended their season.

Despite winning the district championship, the 2008 season ended for Destrehan High School’s girls volleyball team after they fell to the Northshore’s Mandeville Skippers in the first round of the playoffs Monday night.

Last Tuesday was a historical day in our Nations history. For many outdoorsmen, as for myself, it was a day off to take care of hunting and fishing needs, too. The weather was clear, cool, with light winds. It was a perfect day to be off.
