Christmas baseball camp in Hahnville

BOUTTE - Hahnville High School would like to invite boys ages 6 to 16 years old to participate in their “Christmas at the Ballpark” baseball camp on Dec. 27 through 29 from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

The cost is $100 for pre-registration or $115 for walk up registration.

Money must be received by Dec. 21 to be considered pre-registration.

HOUMA - Four beautiful homes and properties will be on tour decorated for the Christmas holidays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 for the 3rd annual Holiday Tour of Homes.

The homes are: Grand Bayou Noir Bed and Breakfast, 1143 Bayou Black Dr., owned by Judge and Mrs. Timothy Ellender; Larry and Maryann Boudreaux, 4936 Imperial Dr.; Mr. and Mrs. Chapman Burguieres, Jr., 4523 Highway 311; Black Star Ranch and Cottage, 1361 Bayou Blue Road, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Neil Suard.

Refreshments will be served at each home on the tour.

“Lauren’s CleanUp in Da’ Swamp” is sponsored in part by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office.

Seniors group sets Mardi Gras events

HAHNVILLE - The St. Charles Council on Aging has released the dates for their Krewe of the Young At Heart special Mardi Gras events.

The Mardi Gras Coronation Tea is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Hahnville Center located at 626 Pine St.
The 12th Annual Mardi Gras Ball will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Jerusalem Shrine Temple Mosque located at 1940 Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.

Poinsettias displayed at LSU AgCenter

BATON ROUGE - The LSU AgCenter’s 2007 Poinsettia Open House is set for Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Burden Center in Baton Rouge.

The show gives growers and the public an opportunity to view the latest poinsettia varieties. More than 1,000 plants will be on display and for sale.

Plantation celebrates holidays with gala

DESTREHAN - Join the Destrehan Plantation staff as they celebrate the holiday season with a Joyeux Noel and Grand Ball on Friday, Dec. 7 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. where dances of the early 1800s will be taught and on Saturday, Dec. 8 for a candlelight tour of the plantation.
All dancers are required to wear period costumes.
Tickets: Friday and Saturday combo tickets are $30 per couple. Saturday only tickets are $10.

DESTREHAN - The Community Chorus of the River Parishes will present its annual Christmas dinner concerts at the Ormond Country Club in Destrehan on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 with dinner starting at 7 p.m. and the concert following at 8 p.m.
