Airport expansion into parish on hold

Seeking to focus more on restructuring Louis Armstrong International Airport in Kenner, Interim Airport Director Sean Hunter said there are no immediate plans for expansion into St. Charles Parish.

New Sarpy kids learn about life in Japan

NEW SARPY - Ms. O'Rourke's first graders (right)and Ms. Miller's third graders at New Sarpy Elementary School have been working together to develop knowledge of our neighboring country, Japan.

With the help of Kuniyo Schmidt, a first grader's mother, who is from Japan, the students learned first hand about the country as they made origami, ate Japanese food, and shared in the learning of Japanese language and games.

Kevin Michael Giroir Jr. was delivered Feb. 12 at 8:04 p.m. to proud parents Kevin Michael Giroir Sr. and Rochelle Lynn Domangue Giroir of Hahnville. Kevin Jr. weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 20 inches long. His siblings are Blair Michael Boquet and Kristin Renee Boquet.
