Parish wants input on future at planning meetings

All St. Charles Parish residents are invited to attend two upcoming citizen workshops to help develop options and strategies for shaping the future of the parish.

Organizers want all opinions and ideas citizens have to offer about the future character of St. Charles Parish.

“The workshop-style atmosphere is an energetic and even fun way for residents to provide their opinions on what they think the parish should look like in 20 years,” Parish spokeswoman Renee Simpson said. “After our previous meetings, we’re tightening our vision to be able to use it to guide policy in the future.”

Both sessions will provide a brief overview of the progress of the planning process; present a summary of the Vision Statement from the first series of public forums and describe the results of the conditions and trends analyses. There will also be a series of group activities and interactive discussions about land use and growth issues, redevelopment, economic development and other key factors that impact quality of life. For additional information, contact Steve Romano or Marny Stein at (985) 783-5060, or go to stcharles2030.blogspot.com.
