Author to discuss, sign book about 1811 slave revolt

DESTREHAN - Dan Rasmussen, author of “American Uprising: The untold Story of America’s Largest Slave Revolt” will be signing copies of his book at East Regional Library on Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. - the actual 200th anniversary of the revolt that took place along the East Bank River Road. The book will be published on Jan. 4, 2011. He will also discuss his book and the history of the revolt. The presentation is free. The event is sponsored by the St. Charles Museum and Historical Association and St. Charles Parish Library.
