100,000 books on sale in Jefferson

METAIRIE - The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library’s semi-annual book sale will be held from Thursday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 2 at The Pontchartrain Center in Kenner where over 100,000 used books will be available for purchase.

Zoo celebrates Louisiana Nov. 1

NEW ORLEANS - The Audubon Zoo is throwing a party - Cajun style! Celebrate Louisiana’s heritage at the 24th annual Louisiana Swamp Fest at the zoo located at 6500 Magazine St. on Nov. 1 and 2.

Admission is included in regular admission, which is $12.50 for adults, $7.50 for children ages 2 to 12 and $9.50 for seniors 65 years of age and over. Audubon Zoo members are admitted free of charge.

The Destrehan Wildcats blew right by East Ascension Friday night, rolling up 46 points and shutting down the Spartans to move to 8-0 on the season.
