HOUMA - Four beautiful homes and properties will be on tour decorated for the Christmas holidays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 for the 3rd annual Holiday Tour of Homes.
The homes are: Grand Bayou Noir Bed and Breakfast, 1143 Bayou Black Dr., owned by Judge and Mrs. Timothy Ellender; Larry and Maryann Boudreaux, 4936 Imperial Dr.; Mr. and Mrs. Chapman Burguieres, Jr., 4523 Highway 311; Black Star Ranch and Cottage, 1361 Bayou Blue Road, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Neil Suard.

|Plantation celebrates holidays with gala

DESTREHAN - Join the Destrehan Plantation staff as they celebrate the holiday season with a Joyeux Noel and Grand Ball on Friday, Dec. 7 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. where dances of the early 1800s will be taught and on Saturday, Dec. 8 for a candlelight tour of the plantation.
All dancers are required to wear period costumes.
Tickets: Friday and Saturday combo tickets are $30 per couple. Saturday only tickets are $10.

DESTREHAN - The Community Chorus of the River Parishes will present its annual Christmas dinner concerts at the Ormond Country Club in Destrehan on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 with dinner starting at 7 p.m. and the concert following at 8 p.m.

HAHNVILLE - The St. Charles Council on Aging will host their parish Christmas tour on Friday, Dec. 7.
Stops include: Destrehan Plantation for a presentation and Victorian Christmas customs, the Norco Activity Center for pictures with Santa, the New Sarpy Center for a chorus performance and caroling, a view of Ormond’s Christmas lights, St. Charles Parish Hospital for a special presentation and the Luling Activity Center for cookies and cocoa and a Christmas surprise.
Tour buses meet at the east and west bank bridge parks. The tour is by reservation only.

LULING - The Title I Family Center and detective Joey Thibodeaux from the Juvenile Investigations Division of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office will hold an internet safety workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Luling Elementary School cafeteria.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide parents and communities with an understanding of the key issues associated with online child predators and how to protect your children online.

VACHERIE - The 31st Annual Oak Alley Plantation Bonfire is set for Saturday, Dec. 1 from 7 p.m. to midnight on the home’s grounds located at 3645 Highway 18 in Vacherie.
Tour guides dressed in antebellum dresses and a brass quintet will lead the traditional parade through the illuminated alley to the levee for the lighting of the bonfire.

In order to track down vandals who have used pellet guns to cause damage to 11 windows, homes and vehicles in Norco, St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne is offering an Xbox One for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible.
