As part of an ongoing study of tornadic risk in the United States, the VorTek company of Huntsville, Alabama has released the rankings of the Top 20 tornado-prone states for the month of February.

The first days of 2007 were filled with numerous reports of murders in New Orleans, with the number of those killed reaching in the double digits even before the second week of the year had concluded. One shooting even occurred as the victim was holding his two-year-old son and watched as his Harvard-educated wife was gunned down.

February will be remembered as a historic month for the United Way of St. Charles, and February 15th will be remembered as a daylong celebration of the agency’s past, present and future with the kickoff set for 10:15 a.m. at the United Way of St. Charles offices at 13207 River Road in Luling.

State cancels plan for Highway 90 median - 3248 views
Following public outcry from residents, business owners and state and local officials, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has canceled plans to install a median with four turning lanes on Highway 90 through Boutte.
