In a presentation to St. Charles Parish council members, project manager Frank Duarte said the Corps is in the final stages of analyzing the pros and cons of two top alternatives, one running along Hwy 90 near populated areas, and one across the Barataria Basin further south and closer to the Gulf of Mexico.

Suspects eyed in murder of Destrehan church volunteer - 1853 views
Nearly five months after 23-year-old Ramal Ellis was found shot to death behind the church where he volunteered his time, officials with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office say suspects have been identified in connection with the murder, though any arrests will have to wait until the evidence is fully processed.
