AMA- When Kattie Troxler, 22, of Ama and her one-year-old son Alex found out her husband Joey would be leaving for Iraq in October, the family immediately became part of a support group for marine wives and their children at the Belle Chase Naval Airbase.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s office is monitoring small businesses in the area very closely due to 5 sophisticated burglaries of local food stores on the east and west banks of the parish, resulted in missing safes and some.

LULING - John and Juanita Landry, owners of the St. Charles Bingo Hall in Boutte believe that a public hearing should be held before a second bingo hall, Bingo Palace, featuring video bingo machines opens in 60 days. “When I opened my business in the 80’s I had to go through two public hearings, have surveys drawn up to make sure I had adequate parking and basically had to follow every step to the letter,” Landry told the Herald-Guide.

The Ed Reed/Valero St. Charles Golf Classic held yesterday at both Belle Terre Country Club and Riverlands netted $53,000 for the Ed Reed Eye of the Hurricane Foundation.
