HAHNVILLE - You’ll eat like a king at the chicken dinner to benefit heart patient Sandra Champagne Punston Neff on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Daddy's Fried Chicken on River Road. Event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. A $5 donation gets you a tasty BBQ chicken leg quarter, jambalaya, baked beans and bread. Cakes, fudge and other sweets will be sold separately. LSU seeking ‘09 calendar photos

BATON ROUGE - Louisiana nature photographers will have an apportunity to show off their work and earn recognition if their photos are selected for the LSU AgCenter’s 2009 Get It Growing calendar.

Submissions must be high-resolution digital images on CDs, transparencies or 8-inch-by-10-inch enlargements with the photographer’s name, address, telephone number and email address attached.

Deadline is Feb. 29, 2008 and the entry form is avaialbe online at www.lsuagcenter.com/GetIt Growing.
Entries should be mailed to Elma Sue McCallum, LSU AgCenter P.O. Box 25100 Baton Rouge, LA 70894.

Krewe of Lul releases meeting schedule
LULING - The Krewe of Lul parade is scheduled to roll at noon on Feb. 17. All riders will meet every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel located at 13889 River Rd. Entry fees: $600 for large floats and $400 for small floats. Information: Call Debbie Dufrense Vial at 985-785-8273.
