|Benefit BINGO held this weekend

LULING - The American Cancer Society’s local Relay For Life team will hold a benefit bingo on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the VFW Hall located at 140 Angus Rd. in Luling.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., bingo starts at 7 p.m. The game will consist of cash and door prizes. Food and other refreshments will be sold.

BOUTTE - The Hahnville High School talent show will be held on Jan. 12 in the HHA auditorium at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any ensemble band member or through the school.

When the Minnesota Bridge collapsed last year, bridges all over the country, including the Hale Boggs Bridge that spans the Mississippi River in Luling, took the spotlight. Residents began to express concerns and ask questions about the safety of the bridge.

NEW ORLEANS - The 2008 New Orleans Boat Show will be held on Jan. 9 through 13 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in halls H, I and J in New Orleans.
In addition to hundreds of the latest boats and accessories, visitors to the show will find a variety of new features and opportunities to win prizes.
Tickets: $9 for adults, $15 for 2-day adult pass, $5 for kids 13 to 15 years old, children under 12 are admitted FREE.
