Free homebuyers seminar held in LaPlace

LAPLACE - Preferred Home Mortgage Inc. will sponsor a free home buyer seminar on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. Loan officers will be on duty to prequalify potential homebuyers. They have 100 percent financing available in the River Parishes area. The seminar is being held at St. Timothy’s Church, 1409 Madewood Drive in LaPlace. Pubic range days coming up soon

ST. CHARLES PARISH - The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office will allow the public to use the St. Charles Firing Range to shoot handguns only. Anyone wishing to use the range will be required to attend a 30-minute safety briefing, which will be held at the range from 8 a.m. to noon on:
June 5 and 19.

The public range hours on those days will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.

All participants are required to bring proper ID and their own targets, safety glasses, hearing protection, baseball cap, staple gun and staples. All weapons must be transported to the range in a suitable device, such as a gun box or holster. No weapons can be brought to the range loaded and weapons must be left in the vehicle during the safety briefing and until all required paperwork is completed. No one under 18 years old will be allowed to fire weapons at the range.
