First step to state crown begins at St. Charles Festival

DESTREHAN - The 52nd Annual St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant will be held on August 8 at 3 p.m. at Destrehan High School. The 52nd Queen will represent St. Charles Parish at the Louisiana Sugar Queen Pageant in New Iberia in September and the LAFF Queen of Queens Pageant in February 2011 in Baton Rouge.

Girls compete in Swamp Pop pageant

LUTCHER - The Swamp Pop Music Festival is hosting a Children’s Pageant and a Teen, Miss and Ms. Pageant on Saturday, August 7 at the Lutcher High School Auditorium in Lutcher. Proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Both the Children’s and the Senior Divisions are open to all Louisiana residents and the Senior Divisions are a contracted title.

Contestants will be judged on an interview, stage introduction and evening gown competition.
