Niah Yoriana Aldave, pictured at right, was born on November 4, 2006 to proud parents Tobie Fletcher and Luigui Aldave. The family resides in New Jersey. Maternal grandparents are Deanna and Robert Fletcher of Luling. Paternal grandparents are Cristina and Luis Aldave of Lima, Peru. Congratulations to Tobie and Luigui!

After a two-year hiatus, the Louisiana District UPC Deaf Evangelism Ministry Conference is back with a terrific program May 18-20 at the ministry's campground in Tioga, 1800 Hickory Hill Road. The annual conference, normally presented in October, has not been held since 2004 due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Destrehan resident Bruce Bourgeois Jr., who is accused of stabbing his live-in girlfriend to death before severely injuring her mother, has been indicted by a grand jury on three charges in connection with the case.
