LULING - St. Charles Parish libraries and the National Endowment for the Arts presents the Big Read on Tuesday, April 1 at the West Regional Library in Luling at 6:30 p.m.
The event will feature a book discussion and celebration of the novel A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines.

|UWSC Bridge Run scheduled for April

This is the twelfth year of the United Way of St. Charles 5K Bridge Run. This premier sporting event raises awareness of United Way and the need for health and human services critical to our community. The theme this year is “Building Communities, Enriching Lives”.
The UWSC needs and appreciates both in-kind and cash donations. Bridge Run Posters, signed and numbered by local artist Matt Touchard are available for $20 each. Activities include face painting, dunking booths,
inflatables, pony rides and raffles. There will also be $4,000 in prize money.
Those who register by March 31 only have to pay $20. There is a $25 fee after that date. Register online at www.runNOTC.org or www.usaysc.org.

DESTREHAN - The third annual River Road Car & Bike Show will be held on Saturday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Destrehan Plantation.
Row after row of classic cars, trucks and bikes will fill the front lawn of the historic plantation, all competing for a wide range of awards.
The event will feature live music by Don Rich and Ruff-N-Ready, delicious Cajun food, local crafts and children’s face painting and pony rides.
The show’s $10 admission fee includes a tour of the beautiful Destrehan Plantation home.
Cars, trucks and bikes are welcome to enter the competition. Entry fee is $20 for early registration and
$25 for day of show registration.
