Summer music fest begins July 19

The HHS Choir and St. Charles Parish music teachers will host the St. Charles Parish Summer Music Festival at HHS from July 19 to July 23.

Catholic Charities to host Girl-Power camp

ST. CHARLES PARISH - Catholic Charities will host its 4th Annual Girl Power Camp from July 19 to 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church on Lakewood Drive for girls ages 8-13.

Licensed social workers will lead the camp in all kinds of indoor/outdoor games, arts and crafts, and activities that build on self-esteem, healthy relationships, goal setting and teamwork skills. Catholic Charities Girl Power Camp is partly sponsored by the St. Charles Women’s Club. The cost of camp is $50, which includes lunch every day, craft supplies and a t-shirt.

Compete in Spillway Classic Trail Run

NORCO - The 23rd Annual Spillway Classic Trail Run will take place on Sunday, July 18 starting at 8 a.m. at the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Norco. The 3-mile run will feature awards to the top 500 finishers and T-shirts. The field will be limited to the first 2000 entrants.

Entry fees are $25 if pre-registered by July 10, $20 for pre-registered New Orleans Track Club members by July 10, and $30 for all entrants after July 10 or on race day.
